Prepare for a Credit Card Upgrade

We are pleased to announce that WinSouth Credit Union is partnering with a new credit card processor to improve the features and benefits of our WSCU Visa® credit cards. Because of this upgrade, all current WSCU Visa® credit card holders will be sent a new credit card with a new card number in mid-February. Continue to use your current WSCU VISA credit card until February 25, 2024. Please activate your new card on February 26, 2024.

To ensure a smooth transition to the new card review the information below.

The new credit cards will offer a brand new rewards program, UChoose Rewards, 24/7 credit card support, new tools to help cardholders manage their card and spending, and improved fraud prevention technology for safer and more secure spending. Plus, this new partnership will allow us to implement the latest technology as it becomes available! 

I Received My New Card, Now What?

Cardholders will receive their new cards in the mail mid February. Continue to use your current credit card until February 25th. On February 26th members may activate their new card by calling the number on the sticker located on the back of the card. If you've already removed the sticker, please call 1-888-999-7552 to activate your credit card.

Helpful Checklist For Your New Credit Card

  • Call the number on the sticker from the primary phone number on your account.

  • Be prepared to answer a few security questions based on the primary cardholder’s information.

  • Destroy your old WSCU Visa credit card. It will no longer work after February 25, 2024.

  • Reestablish any automatic bill payments with merchants.

  • Add your new WSCU Visa credit card to your mobile wallet.

 

Important Dates:

  • February 12th: New cards will be mailed to all cardholders. For joint cardholder accounts, each joint and authorized cardholder will receive a card with a unique number for security purposes. Cards will be mailed on or before February 12th.
  • February 26, 2024: Activate your new credit card and begin using it. You will have to select a new PIN at the time of activation. You can also update your recurring payments at this time. To set a PIN, you must call the activation number. A PIN is only needed for accessing cash through an ATM. PLEASE NOTE: Your existing card will be deactivated at 11:59 p.m. CT on February 25, and you will no longer be able to use it. You must activate your new card in order to use your new WSCU Visa® credit card.

Once your card is activated, be sure to add your card(s) to your mobile wallet and our brand new card control hub, Cards HQ, found within online and mobile banking.

If you have an automatic payment set up to pay your VISA credit card from your WSCU account, those will process as usual until February 22, 2024. Future automatic payments will need to be set up as a new recurring payment through Cards HQ located within the WSCU online and mobile banking app. Your payment due date will remain the same.

There are several ways you will be able to pay your credit card bill going forward:

  • Make a payment through online banking or the mobile banking app.
  • Call the number on the back of the credit card, 1-888-999-7552, to make a payment over the phone.
  • Mail in your payment to:

  • Pay online at winsouthcu.com/creditcards.
  • Visit any WSCU branch to make a payment.

     

Please note:  All credit card payments are due on the 12th of each month. Branches will not be able to post payments on the 22nd through the 25th, nor will members be able to make credit card payments through digital banking on those days.

If you have your payment sent electronically from a non-WSCU financial bill pay system, please be sure to update the card number and mailing address to WSCU VISA  P.O. Box 2711 Omaha, NE 68103-2711 after February 26, 2024, but before March 12, 2024.

 

What Is Cards HQ?

Through our new digital banking experience, coming February 7th, we're able to offer you card controls at your fingertips. Lost your debit or credit card? No worries. Through Cards HQ you can turn your card on and off. Cards HQ can be found within online banking and the mobile banking app after February 7th. If you have credit card alerts currently set up, these will not transfer over. Members will need to reestablish alerts through Cards HQ.

Will I Lose My Current Points?

No, you will not lose your current rewards, and there is no change to how you earn rewards. However, the points that cardholders earn have increased to 1.25 points per dollar spent. Please note: Converted reward points won’t be available until a few weeks after the upgrade. New purchase rewards will begin accruing immediately.

Once live, cardholders can access the new UChoose Rewards Program by navigating to the personal tab, selecting VISA credit card, and then clicking on rewards. 

Will The Process To Redeem My Rewards Change?

Yes, with the UChoose rewards platform, cardholders can choose how they would like to redeem their rewards. Points can be redeemed for merchandise, travel, entertainment, or cash back to your credit card. Also, if you and your significant other each have a credit card with WSCU, those points can be pooled in the new platform. The link to the new rewards program will be posted here, under the digital banking tab, and under the credit card sections once we go live.

Bill Payments & Recurring Transactions

If you use your credit card to automatically pay recurring bills (i.e., electric, insurance, cable) or recurring subscription accounts (Amazon, Hulu, gym memberships, etc.), please be sure to update your account with your new credit card number, payment address (noted above), and other information after you activate your new card. To ensure there is no interruption with recurring or preauthorized payments (such as monthly utility bills, insurance payments, club dues, etc.) update the merchant as soon as possible.

 

Should I Update My Card Information Where I’ve Saved It?

Yes. Your new card has a new number, expiration date, and security code. On or after February 26, 2024, you’ll need to update your credit card information anywhere it’s used for automatic/recurring payments and mobile wallets.  

  • Bill payments/recurring transactions: If you use your credit card to automatically pay recurring bills (i.e., electric, insurance, cable) or recurring subscription accounts (Amazon, EZPass, gym memberships, etc.), please be sure to update your account with your new credit card number, payment address, WSCU Payments P.O. Box 2711 Omaha, NE 68103-2711, and other pertinent information after you activate your new card.

 

 

Transaction History and Historical Statements

After the credit card conversion, you will not have access to past statements. Limited historical transaction data will be available. Please download any statements that you may need before February 22, 2024. After that date, WinSouth will not have access to your previous credit card statements.

Accessing New Statements

Your electronic credit card statements will now be sent from [email protected]. Once the conversion is completed, you can view your transactions and pull your statements in your Cards HQ portal. Statements before February 22, 2024 will not be available in Cards HQ.

Will I Still Have Access To EzCard?

EzCard will not be available after February 22, 2024. EzCard will be replaced with Cards HQ. Cards HQ will allow members to turn their cards on and off, see their past transactions, pull statements, set transaction alerts, and much more! Cards HQ can be accessed through online and mobile banking.

Why am I receiving a credit card?

WSCU is changing our credit card processor to better serve your needs. This change requires that a new card be issued.

 

What should I do when I receive my new card?

On February 26th, cardholders can activate their new credit card. You should receive your new card mid-February but continue to use your current card until February 25th.

  • Activate your card on February 26th. Call the number on the sticker from the primary phone number on your account.

  • Be prepared to answer a few security questions based on the primary cardholder’s information.

  • Destroy your old WSCU Visa credit card. It will no longer work after February 25, 2024.

  • Reestablish any automatic bill payments with merchants.

  • Add your new WSCU Visa credit card to your mobile wallet.

Will I need to create a new PIN number to access cash with my new credit card?

Yes, however, this is only necessary if you plan on taking cash advances from your card. You may select your unique PIN by calling the number on the activation label and by saying ‘Select PIN’ or ‘Change PIN.’ Not sure if we do this now.

Should I update my card information anywhere I’ve saved it?

Yes. Your new card has a new number, expiration date, and security code. On or after February 26, 2024, you’ll need to update your credit card information anywhere it’s used for automatic/recurring payments and mobile wallets.  

  • Bill payments/recurring transactions: If you use your credit card to automatically pay recurring bills (i.e., electric, insurance, cable) or recurring subscription accounts (Amazon, EZPass, gym memberships, etc.), please be sure to update your account with your new credit card number, payment address, WSCU Payments P.O. Will there be any changes to my monthly statement?

I have a Rewards Visa® credit card. Will there be any changes to my rewards?

You will not lose your current rewards, and there is no change to how you earn rewards. However, reward points have increased to 1.25 points per dollar spent on purchase transactions.

My existing card does not expire for quite a while; can I continue using my existing card until expiration?

No. Your existing card will not work after 11:59 p.m. CT on February 25, 2024.

My spouse and I both have a WSCU Visa credit card, but I only received one card in the mail. Will my spouse be receiving a new card?

Yes, as a security feature, all cards being issued with this conversion will have a unique number and will arrive separately, including joint and authorized user cardholder accounts. However, you will continue to receive only one billing statement, regardless of the number of cards on the account.

What do I need to do if I have preauthorized or recurring payments that are tied to my current WSCU Visa credit card?

To ensure there is no interruption with recurring or preauthorized payments (such as monthly utility bills, insurance payments, club dues, etc.) contact the merchant as soon as possible with your new card number and expiration date.

Will I need to send my payment to a new location after the conversion?

Yes. The new address will be included on your statements. If you pay this bill through online bill payment, you will need to update the mailing address to WSCU VISA, P.O. Box 2711 Omaha, NE 68103-2711, to ensure that your payment reaches the processor by your due date. If you pay this bill by check, include your payment stub with your check and mail to the address listed above.

I set-up my monthly credit card payment as an automatic ACH transfer, payroll deduction, or recurring transfer. Do I have to make any changes?

To ensure there is no interruption in automated payments, contact the provider of this service (i.e., another bank or bill pay service) as soon as possible, with your new card number and payment address. If you had an automatic payment set up through WinSouth’s online banking, those payments will proccess as normal until February 22, 2024.  For future automatic payments, members will need to set up a new recurring payment at Cards HQ within the WSCU online and mobile banking 

Will my previous card history transfer to my new card so that I have access to the information if needed?  

After the credit card conversion, you will not have access to past statements. Limited historical transaction data will be available.
